Jusst a heads up...........we've had several requests in the past to bring back the Wilson tour simulation stringing room. The first time we offered this at the symposium we had several who went through the simulation and I think there were 3 people chosen from that group that were given a second look and then went on to be added to the Wilson team.

This year we're going to offer the simulation room again and we have limited spaces available. When registration opened a couple of weeks ago there were 12 slots and 7 of those slots have already been taken so if you're planning to attend and this is something of interest to you I would recommend that you register soon to be assured of a slot in this seminar.

Other new seminars (and seminar leaders) have been added to the 2012 schedule. For complete information just go to the GSS home page and scroll through the various sub menus under the primary navigation link titled "Symposium"

Tim

I'm having the opposite problem. I put a set of BLX 6.1 grommets on a Pro Staff 6.1 Classic with no problems. But I can't get the BLX grommets to fit the BLX 6.1!

Strings & Stringing - gut main poly cross tension question

Martin,

I once had a client request extreme difference in main/cross tensions. He is a Nationally ranked player and a retired engineer. He came in with a mathematical formula that completely filled two pages of a legal pad and had deducted that a tension of 60/40 would be best for him. I warned against it saying that I wasn't sure the frame would hold up. Since he had 30+ frames he told me to go ahead. The frame held although I had bit of trouble freeing it from the vice! It played horribly but he was still sure. I strung it several more times decreasing the difference by 5 pounds each time. When we got to 60/55, he was satisfied with the results! FYI: the frame was a Wilson Sledgehammer OS and the string was a nylon single wrap (both main and cross). He did and still does request two piece stringing and is still maintaining the 5 pound difference. He varies the tension slightly depending on time of the year, weather, etc.

Day 3 morning.

Did a few early morning frames that needed to get knocked out. Ladies Qualies start at 10:00 am. No last minute panic "I just got off the plane and all my strings are broken" scenario. (So far!)

Seeing a few friends from RCS (Melanie Oudin and Matt Walker). Nothing too exciting going on.

Bye!
2 frames just came in.

Chuck

Hey Martin. Great news about Delray. I spoke to Craig about it yesterday, and he asked if I was interested. I told him I'd let him know how my schedule pans out, because I have a super series this weekend, then a WTA pre qualy in a few weeks, including a Tier 2 in two weeks. I believe he said Ken and Bill will be there again this year, so should be a good team.

Anyways, hopefully we'll meet up.

Once your own develops to a point of too much with a club job, then just go on your own.
This could be helpful to you in future as some clubs change ownership, and clean house, or if a board is in charge they can get rid of directors and effectively get rid of whoever they want down the road. Being on your own, there is no chance of that happening, but it can be difficult to do that all at once.

Sounds to me like you have the records to prove this customer is wrong. Why buy a new racquet when you know the info he's giving is not matching up to the records you have on file? Seems to me that you could simply tell him that the racquet he received is the racquet he dropped off. No other racquet of the same model has been in your shop when his was--end of story.

Good luck

Tim
